food diary

what is food diary?

dis is one of my assignment

at 1st i'm a bit uncomfortable doing this, ye laa everything has to be weigh and record.

luckily it's only for 3 days :)

fyi, my datas will be analyse by a nutrition software

hemmm den will see whether what i ate is good or bad for my health...

and whether my physical activities is enough to burn calories of what i've eaten for dat 3 days

its not easy to be selected

some of d criterion are ; healthy, drink limited alchoholic drinks and coffee and

d most important one is your gene types.

i found dat its interesting to participate in bcoz

(1) at least i knew what my gene type is

(2) i knew my sleep patterns

(3) lastly, i'll b paid for it :)

People always said that it's easy to recognize people from Terengganu by d slang they used (sometimes, even when they tried soooo hard to speak bahasa melayu). it's simple. people from terengganu tend to put extra 'G' in most words or sound like 'ng' (e.g : mung, makang, ikang n etc.) but there's something u might need to learn more about ganung's slang..i mean in terms of d terms they used in their daily conversation...

This is something i've got from one of my yahoo groups and it's quite interesting for u guys...

I was recently tutored by a group of students form KUSTEM on the intricacies of the Terengganu tongue. It all kicked off when I was approached in the morning by the turtle sanctuary caretaker with a "Kok, pinjang sprong." I blinked, but refused to look stupid. I was at that point holding on to my binoculars. So I made an intelligent guess, smiled, and handed him my binocs. That night after a hard days work, the group of KUSTEM kids gave me a lengthy lecture on bahasa Terengganu, its pronounciation, complete with all the tanda "sabdu".

So I learnt how and when to use "dok ghok cetong", which means tak larat langsung.
If the biscuit is really nice & crunchy, you say the "sekuk" is "keruk keruk". Of course, kalau dah masuk angin, it becomes "liuk" from the word liut. This is different from "bruk bruk", used to describe bunyi bila ratah say for example, tulang ayang.
Then if one sits too long, bontot rasa kebas, you say your bontot is"serebang".
And when you run helter skelter, you say "aku kebok lari".
Then when you fall head first, you say you "jatuh nungging nyiur".
When you go to Pasar Tani and wants to buy some baby corns for the mixed veggie, you tell the pokcik, you want "tiyok jagong", from the word ketiak.
Then if you get tackled by someone while playing football, you say "mu sengeleng peteh aku". Loosely translated to mean you purposely tackled me.
The act of peeping is called "skodeng".Then of course there are also the penguat perkataan. Lintang pukang is a common example.

But in Terengganu, they are :

Hitang beletung (very dark)
Putih sepuk (very fair)
Gemok debbo' (very fat)
Kurus keke' (very thin)
Huduh sepang (very ugly), and so on...
Panas dering
Masing pekok
Pahit lepang
Manis leting
Pedas desik
Busuk kohong
Gelap gugug

I love this, and I can relate to it: Ketat gelemak.

I tell you, it's wonderful to learn all these!

By reading that, i found few terms which I think I'd never heard of or used in my life, e.g : tiyok jagung! - it's a bit weird to use this term to describe a vege i guess
hemmm i wonder how they created that terms!

AJL 19…
Dan keputusannya adalah…(smua org tau..x perlu ulang lagi)

Dari awal sudahku katakan
Siapa menang pun aku tak heran
Sebab SeeT tak amik bahagian

Aku memandang AJL 19 ni, setelah pengunduran SeeT membuka laluan misah oppss misha untuk bolot kategori vokal terbaik dan kak ani untuk kategori persembahan terbaik.

Misah dapat advantage ni selagi tiada yang lain yang bervokal mantap pada tahun-tahun mendatang dan selagi misah membawa lagu dalam kategori balada. Macam dah trend di AJL bila mana yang bervokal mantap mesti dari kategori balada. Betul tak? Kalo yang tak betul (pada pandangan aku)…hanyalah bila SeeT yang membawa lagu2 irama malaysia.

Kak ani juga dapat advantage bila SeeT berundur. Mudah bagi kak ani untuk menang kategori persembahan terbaik. Ingat lagi waktu SeeT menang kategori persembahan terbaik utk lagu nirmala..? ada saingan antara performance mereka kan?

Mungkin tahun depan dan akan datang kak ani berpeluang lagi untuk menang tapi tidak mustahil ada performance lain mungkin dari kategori lain yang lebih mantap dan lebih terhibur sepertimana performance terakhir SeeT kumilikmu pada AJL tahun lalu yang sampai hari ini aku ingattttt.….

An important factor in understanding learning styles is understanding brain functioning. Both sides of the brain can reason, but by different strategies. and one side may be dominant. The left brain is considered analytic in approach while the right is described as holistic or global.

A successive processor (left brain) prefers to learn in a step-by-step sequential format, beginning with details leading to a conceptual understanding of a skill.

A simultaneous processor ( right brain) prefers to learn beginning with the general concept and then going on to specifics.

People think and learn in different ways. In any group there will always be evidence of different learning characteristics, but different cultural groups may emphasize one cognitive style over another.
